Blue paradise

Sorting through photos from our North America trip and reminiscing on good times.

Currently missing ihop, the land of wonderful fluffy buttermilk pancakes and syrup. Such indulgence but oh so delicious fuel that will last us until mid-day. Why can't we get something like this in HK? This and gooey cinnamon buns..

Road tripping from Los Angeles to Monterey.

Pit stop at a small town called Goleta. Sitting outdoors and enjoying some salad and super fresh panini sandwich. This one had prosciutto with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers. Felt like Gilmore Girls lived here..hehe

Only in the US, driving in a massive Ford Expedition, our people mover...

I love GPS. Although I miss using maps (sometimes), it's amazing how much information is accessible on your fingertips.

Arrived in Monterey for dinner at the Sardine Factory.

Cauliflower risotti and my favourite pan seared scallops =)

Dessert time, vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate served on a stick with dry ice added for a dramatic effect.

Picture perfect!

Fish Hopper's clam chowder bread bowl. Creamy soup served in a toasted sour dough with a well buttered top. Mmm..

Twix! My university vending machine snack heehee

At the Monterey Bay Aquarium connecting us to the ocean. <3

Loving the reflective glass in this photo.

@ Carmel Beach

Lunch at the Rocky Point Restaurant with amazzzing views..

Nothing but the vast North Pacific Ocean.

Some people prefer living inland, surrounded by lush vegetation but I still prefer views of the ocean. Me and my happy place =)

Happy Spring Festival

Wishing everyone a wonderful Chinese New Year and a happy n' healthy year of the Monkey! Let the family gatherings, delicious foods and celebrations begin. :P

Bai leen at popo's place on new year's day.

Food galore: mushrooms and bak choi, chicken with ginger sauce, bean curd and vermicelli, beef slices, prawns, chinese sausages, salted duck, snow peas with cashew nuts, lettuce with abalone slices, soup and rice.. all family style dishes served traditionally at the So's CNY gathering.

 Three generations altogther :)

Photo shoot at Oi Man Estate

After lunch we walked from Ho Man Tin to Mong Kok where lots of people are still shopping and sightseeing. We were shocked when we woke up the next day to see the footages of the riot that happened overnight. We actually saw some of street hawkers getting into a small argument with the Food and Environmental Hygiene department workers and wondered if that 'heat' escalated into the violent clash between the police. Hope no one got seriously hurt and that both sides can cool down and reflect on their actions.

Peace, happiness and love always. Treasure HK

Hot pot dinner at Redhill.

J's impressive shucking skills, pretty fresh oysters.

Gorgeous weather and a perfect time to go for a walk. Went from Mid-levels to the end of Bowen road and then down to Happy Valley passing the race course to Causeway Bay. Nice walk to stretch our legs amidst all our family gatherings.
